The Church at the Centre is a United Christian Congregation representing and supported by the Church of England, The Methodist Church, The United Reformed Church and the Baptist Church. The Congregation began meeting in Hillside School over 40 years ago and transferred to the Ecumenical Centre building when it opened in 1973.
Our purpose is to accept and respond together our calling to be the presence of Christ in the world. To express together the presence of Christ through love, words, prayer, worship and action. To celebrate and explore together our shared beliefs and differences within the love of Christ. To seek to be Christ’s presence in our local communities and in Skelmersdale.
Are you thinking of joining our church? Looking to hold a baptism, wedding or funeral, or do you have a prayer request that you would like to be shared on behalf of yourself or a loved one? For all of these requests contact Rev. Chris Spittle. He can be found at the centre leading prayers every Tuesday or reached via telephone on 01695 722087.
