The Skelmersdale Food-bank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
West Lancs ARK was set up in 2012 to offer services to ex-offenders, unemployed, homelessness and substance misuse. Their aim is to enable clients to access housing, training education, voluntary work, business start up and employment access as well as help for drug and alcohol problems, mental health, debt claiming benefits.
South West Lancashire Independent Community Advice Network is a grass roots organisation which aims to provide quality advice and support on Employment Law, Welfare Rights, Debt, Health and Safety, plus access and support on ICT, Job Search and Interview Techniques.
Lancashire Community Finance is a not for profit Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) and a registered charity. Community Finance Organisations increase access to fair financial services providing social and economic benefits to people, places and businesses.
Royal Rangers UK help children learn by doing fun activities, trying new hobbies and developing valuable life skills. These skills help a child to understand more about themselves, and builds their self-confidence and ability to assess practical situations, helping them overtime to grow in all areas of their social, personal and spiritual lives.
Empower the Invisible Project was founded in May 2019 with a number of amazing volunteers leading the way. It has made a firm commitment that means it will always be peer led. It was borne out of a desire to help others, who like them had experienced childhood sexual abuse and were struggling to find a service to meet their needs.
